Compatible Oils & Serums
TheTherabrush is designed to pair beautifully with nourishing oils and lightweight serums to maximize absorption and scalp stimulation. While the brush's vibration helps these products penetrate deeper, it’s important to use the right kind of oils—especially if you’re using the mist diffuser.
1. Lightweight Oils (Best for Mist Diffuser + Brushing)
These oils are ideal for both direct scalp application and for use in the mist chamber (if your device supports it):
– Rosemary Oil – Known to boost circulation and promote hair growth
– Argan Oil – Rich in antioxidants, hydrates without clogging follicles
– Jojoba Oil – Closely mimics natural scalp oils; great for all scalp types
– Tea Tree Oil – Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory; helps with dandruff (always dilute)
How to Use:Â Mix a few drops with distilled water (in a 1:10 ratio) for misting, or apply directly to the scalp before brushing. Avoid overloading to prevent buildup.
2. Heavier Oils (For Pre-Brushing, Not Misting)
Thicker oils can deeply nourish the scalp and hair but are not suitable for the mist diffuser. Use them before brushing, but be cautious with the amount.
– Coconut Oil – Excellent for deep conditioning and scalp nourishment
– Castor Oil – Promotes thickness and growth, especially around hairlines
– Olive Oil – Moisturizing and rich in vitamins, though heavier than most
How to Use:Â Apply lightly to the scalp or roots with fingertips, then use the Therabrush (vibration + light only, no mist). Clean the brush after each use to prevent oil buildup.
3. Hair Serums (Scalp-Friendly Only)
Many lightweight serums are safe and effective to use with the brush, especially when targeting dryness, breakage, or scalp irritation.
– Niacinamide Serums – Improve scalp circulation and reduce inflammation
– Peptide or Biotin Serums – Support keratin production and follicle health
– Hyaluronic Acid Serums – Ideal for dry, flaky scalp; hydrates deeply
– Caffeine Serums – Stimulate roots and help reduce shedding
How to Use:Â Apply a few drops directly onto clean scalp, then brush slowly in sections with red or blue light activated.
What to Avoid
– Heavy oils in the mist chamber (like coconut or castor oil)
– Silicones or alcohol-based products that can coat the bristles
– Products not meant for scalp use (only apply scalp-safe formulas)
– Using undiluted essential oils directly—always mix with a carrier oil or water
Cleaning Tip:
If you’re using oils or serums regularly, gently wipe the brush head with a damp cloth after each session and deep-clean weekly to prevent residue buildup.
